How we can help

The world as we know has changed and it is really important to us that everyone that comes to our events feels welcomed, safe and enjoys themselves.  This document details how we will do this but if there is anything else that you need in advance or have questions just get in touch by email or direct message through any of our social channels.

At the event if you have any queries please make contact with any of the Tourism South East team (they will be wearing a lanyard with the awards logo).

Cancellations and name changes

Final numbers and dietary requirements have been given to the venue so we are no longer able to offer refunds.  If for any reason you are unable to attend please do try to find an alternative and let us know immediately what their name is.

Where are the awards taking place?

The awards ceremony is being held at the Grand Brighton.

Alternatively, the Grand recommends the NCP on Russell Road and encourages you to download the ParkPass App to secure saving to hourly and overnight rates. Using SAVERID: BTNHOTEL also secures an introductory 10% discount on top of the published rates.

Feel free to dress up as much as you like as this is a celebration for all the brilliant tourism businesses and sponsors from across the South East eg black tie, your favourite celebratory outfit or what you feel most comfortable in to go on stage and have your photo taken.

The event starts at 6pm with an arrival drink, you will be called through for dinner around 6.50pm, the awards ceremony will start around 9pm finishing around 10.45 - 11pm. You can find the running order here. Then there will be music, networking and the bar will stay open till 12.30am for close at 1am.

What will happen on the night?

On arrival guests will be greeted by Tourism South East staff at the main entrance and directed to the drinks reception for their welcome drink from 6 - 6.50pm, to give guests time to arrive and get to know one another.

You will be served a glass of wine at your table to go with your meal.  If you would like to pre order any additional drinks for your table you can do this here before 20 April On the night there will be a pay bar and table service.

There will be table plans on display so you will be able to see who you are sitting with.  Our team will also have copies on the night for your reference.  If you would prefer one in an alternative format eg large print, PDF or word download version please let us know immediately.

The award category will be announced and then the sponsor will be invited to go on stage.  The finalists will then be announced and invited to come immediately to the side of the stage.  Note that there is a maximum of two people per business.  Then as each award is announced - in order Bronze, Silver, Gold, Special - the winners will go on stage to collect their award and have their photograph taken with the sponsor.  As time is of the essence no speeches are necessary.  For this year if you have won a commended award you will also be invited on stage to collect your certificate.

COVID Safety

The Grand Brighton has taken many steps to ensure all their guests are kept safe which you can read about here, they also are AA Covid Confident.

If you have any infectious disease or have symptoms of Covid-19 please take a test and, if positive, do not attend but feel free to give your ticket to someone else just let us know who this will be. Any refunds are at the organisers’ discretion.  Should you become unwell at the event with a new continuous cough or high temperature, please let us know before you leave, and we will ensure your award is collected on your behalf

So that we all have an enjoyable safe event please note the following:

  • Please use the hand sanitisers positioned at frequent touch points around the hotel – restrooms, lifts, reception and concierge.
  • Please feel free to wear a mask if you feel more comfortable and respect others personal space.
  • The number of guests has been restricted and will be below capacity so there is plenty of space to observe distancing if required - the maximum number in the room is 550 and we will have around 200 guests.
  • The number of guests on each table will be reduced, allowing more space between seats - we will be removing two places from each table so they will either seat 8 or 10 rather than 10 or 12.  The exception is if you have booked a whole table and specified numbers.
  • Please remember that not everyone is comfortable being greeted with a handshake or physical contact of any kind.
  • We will have a number of staff helping us to stage the event - in addition to the team at the Grand - they will all be easily identifiable with a lanyard showing the awards logo.  They will be happy to help, so if there’s anything we can do to help you enjoy the event and feel safe, please just ask.
  • If any guest is not respectful of others request for distancing or any behaviour is felt to compromise other guests’ enjoyment, they will respectfully be asked to leave the event.
  • Please make sure that you read our event terms and conditions here before arrival for more information.

We are really looking forward to seeing and celebrating with you.  If you have any questions please get in touch
