Award Categories

Below are short descriptions of the 2019/20 awards categories. There are some new awards and some changes to criteria with full details available on the respective entry forms. Remember, there may well be more than one category which you can enter.

If you have won gold in the same category in the South East in the last two years we’d advise considering a different category or offering to help us with judging.

We may merge or split categories depending on entries.  We also reserve the right to move an entry into a different category should we consider it a better fit, though we will consult with you before doing this.

Categories marked (VE) are those also included in the national VisitEngland Awards.  Winners of the Beautiful South Awards in these categories will have the option of their forms and judging reports being submitted for consideration in the national awards.  Some VisitEngland categories combine two or three of listed categories into one eg Taste (combines cafe and restaurant), Experience (includes spa and wellbeing), Holiday Parks (combines glamping, holiday parks and touring camping and caravanning park).

Entry is free for members of Tourism South East. Non members can pay an entrance fee of £70 plus VAT, £45 for B and Bs. This includes entry into two awards (plus Sustainablity and Access); you will be invoiced on receipt of your application and payment must be received before your entry will be accepted.  Entry is free to everyone for the Customer Service Superstar award.
